- Road Trip
In the 50’s and 60’s, long car trips could be boring for kids. Before video games and cell phones, traveling entertainment consisted of reading, playing with dolls or small toys and short naps. If the trip took you on a rural road, there was the chance of spotting playful Burma Shave shaving cream signs. Kids liked spotting the signs and being able to read each sign before their car passed by. The signs were sequential and included a short, often goofy little rhyme that had nothing to do with shaving cream. The last sign in the grouping would include only two words - “Burma Shave”.
